Work on Loviseberg industrial site in Tumba, Sweden

Rock handling and construction work for industrial site in Tumba

A new industrial property is being built next to Norrbottens Bergteknik's office on Tuna gårdsväg in Tumba. In the project, we are responsible for rock handling, blasting and all construction work.

The work started a few weeks ago and will last until 2022.
– We have started by uncovering the ground and have already fired two small bursts," says Mats Nordlander, Norrbottens Bergteknik.

Currently, there is an excavator, a dumper, a drilling rig and employees on site. Another rig will be added to the fleet in early 2022.

Reusing the rock
In total, around 35,000 cubic metres of rock will be removed.
– We take care of all the rock, crush it into the right fractions and reuse all the material for the groundwork, from the raw rock to the asphalt," says Mats.

The area is in close proximity to major roads and existing properties. Therefore, rock excavation is done with caution.

Also water, sewage and electricity
In Stockholm we have a construction department. Therefore, we are also responsible for all construction work on the industrial site.
– In addition to uncovering, blasting and crushing, we do all the plumbing work, lay pipes and cables in the ground, install gabion walls and finish the surfaces up to and including the asphalt, says Mats.

The industrial property is being built by Fastec.
